The Yale College Internship Program began in 1975 under the directorship of A. Tappan Wilder. The program, which ran in conjunction with Yale Summer Term, placed 25 undergraduates a year in government, business, and media internships during fall or spring term. In 1979 the Yale Summer Program ended, raising questions about the future of the internship program. The Linonian Literary Society was founded in 1753. All undergraduates were allowed to be members of the Linonian Society. The club provided students with a forum to debate, stage plays, and deliver poems, essays, and orations. The society disbanded in 1868.
